Even miracles take a little time.

Now that I was able to express my appreciation for the Disney College Program, I want to get back to my original plan for this blog and document the processes gone through when applying. So this September I applied for multiple Professional Internships along with the Disney College Program.

Applications for PI's went out the last week of August. So getting a head start on those was nice. The list was really long and I couldn't contain myself, I wanted to apply for everything but after carefully reading through the jobs that interested me, I cracked down on what I was actually qualified for.
I applied for:

  • WDW Public Relations
  • Media Relations
  • Tradeshow and Events
  • DL Cast Activities
  • Alumni Only Events
  • Alumni Only
  • Food and Beverage Mgmt
Those were the few I felt I was qualified for and was really interested in. I wrote cover letters, and updated my resume. Each application was very similar but had a few different questions that were more specific to the job. After applying I received a Thank for Applying from each of these jobs. I was NLIC for numerous of the jobs, I'm assuming due to lack of experience outside of Disney. But I am still In Progress for Alumni Only which includes my interest in Guest Relations, Traditions, and Theme Park Support. I've also haven't heard much for F&B mgmt. So anyway I was then sent an e-mail for a Screening Interview. This was a very basic interview that is used for all of the internships you are applying for. This interview consisted of questions about why you are a good fit for the company, leadership skills, time management, guest interactions, along with the concluding "sell yourself" question at the end. My recruiter expressed that we would be notified by November 25th for decisions. This is a super long waiting process compared to what I have been used to with the DCP. So for now I'm just waiting, trying to occupy myself, keeping my fingers crossed and staying hopeful for November. At this point No News is Good News, so we will wait and see!
